Polaris

Polaris , FDA-approved procedure that uses Elos technology to offer safe, rapid reduction of fine lines and wrinkles with no downtime.

How does it work?
Elos technology uses a unique combination of radio frequency and light to stimulate collagen formation. The energy is applied to the surface of the skin using a comfortable treatment tip about the size of a postage stamp.

While results are not normally as dramatic as those seen with longer downtime, ablative procedures such as CO2 laser resurfacing or Hydro Peel, most patients experience a noticeable improvement with significant softening of wrinkles. Polaris can also improve enlarged pores, superficial acne scars, rough skin, and laxity of the face and neck.

What does the treatment feel like?
A computer-controlled mechanism cools and protects the skin's surface skin as the treatment tip pulses the RF and laser energy deeper into the skin. The pulses feel like a heat pulse or snapping sensation. The hand piece is cooled for skin protection and comfort. A separate skin-chilling device is often used for increased comfort. No bandages or aftercare is required. Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

What areas can be treated?
The entire face and neck may be treated at once or the area may be divided into thirds. For example, the upper third of the face (the forehead and lower eyelids) is a commonly treated treatment area for patients wishing to tighten the skin of the lower lid, soften crow's feet and lift the brow.

When will I see results?
Three to five treatments are typically needed for maximum results. Improvement may not be fully evident for up to six months following the last treatment. Some patients may not respond to Polaris treatment.

How do patients look & feel after treatment?
Patients usually look and feel well enough to resume normal activities within 24 hours after treatment. There is no pain following treatment. Minor swelling, redness and/or a mild tingling sensation may occur for a few hours.

Can other treatments be combined with Polaris? Polaris patients may benefit from a variety of innovative treatment combinations, including intense pulsed light, microdermabrasion, Thermage, blepharoplasty (eyelid rejuvenation), and Botox.

What is the cost for Polaris?
The overall cost will vary based on the number of areas treated with Polaris and any treatment combinations. Exact fees will be quoted at the time of consultation.
